When it was decided that the School group would be heading down to Jamberoo for the day, my initial reaction was - Thats nice, the last time I went was near 20 years ago, it was old, tired and very run down, the though of trekking down there with my kids in tow was about as appealing as having a termite nest located in my roof!
Lets fast track that 20 years!
Forget what you may remember the park being - Jamberoo is an experience not to be missed. It is fresh, vibrant and a whole lot of fun.
Forget the Waterworks at Many, Jamberoo, to its credit, has developed into a fantastic water theme park offering something for everyone, from the Rock, a 3 or 5 metre "leap of faith" to Billabong Beach, ideal for the younger kids to the awesome, recently opened Tiapan.
This is the slide to where you almost die laughing! 5 people in a raft, pitch black and enough turns and tumbles to keep your head spinning way after the event! truly 5 stars!
Plus there is the famous toboggans, Surf Hill and much more.
There is ample shaded area's a number of culinary experiences all at reasonable prices plus ample room to set up your own picnic.
There was only one complaint - we actually had to leave early ! But I cant wait to get back there, neither can the kids.
In short - NEVER think Sydney is missing a water theme park, located around an hour and a half out of Sydney, Jamberoo is an experience that lasts the whole day and exceptional value!
